Narayan Gopal Gurubacharya(1939 – 1990) is the famous nepali artist known in the history of Nepali music so far. He was also a talented composer in addition to singer, so he was able to change the direction of Nepali music towards the summit of success. Therefore he is also known as ‘Emperor of Voice (swarsamrat)’.
He was born in a large family having 6 sisters and 5 brothers. After his graduation from Tri-chandra college. he moved to India to learn classical indian music. Till now, he had given his vocal in near about 145 songs. He had also sang many songs in reference to Patriotism such as ‘Jaga Jaga Chamka hai’ and ‘Aama timilai’ which lead him to move a further step for his career. Because of his unlimited talent towards music, he was also been awarded by many institutions. On the basis of his music compositions, he is also called ‘Tragedy King’ but due to misfortune, ‘The Swarsamrat’ left this world on December 5, 1990 in Bir Hospital suffering of diabetes.
