Jatra Nepal, in collaboration with Boston Tamu Samaaj, are thrilled to host Nepathya, the iconic legend of the Nepali music industry. This is set to be a historic cultural milestone for the New England Nepali diaspora.

Nepathya, a trendsetter since its formation in 1990, needs no introduction with its distinct genre of Nepali folk-rock. The band has been on the forefront of the Nepalese music scene for decades with socially conscious messages intricately woven into their traditional yet contemporary music.

Jatra Nepal is dedicated to to promoting Nepali arts and culture in the New England area, to providing a platform for Nepali youths in the creative fields to share their passions and their stories, and inspiring the rest of us to follow our passions. As a huge fan and a musician himself, Ujjwal Dhaubhadel of Jatra Nepal is beside himself beaming with pride. He describes hosting the band and celebrating their music as akin to summiting at Mt. Everest. “There is is no other thing beyond Nepathya. It is like achieving the most unachievable.”

Boston Tamu Samaaj strongly believes in supporting and uplifting the Nepali communities in the areas of the arts, philanthropy, education and all activities geared towards the promotion and preservation of our roots and culture. “Their music so beautifully ties into who we are, our core values as an organization when trying to create a home away from home,” said Samjhana Gurung Shrestha who wishes the younger generations grow up with the same values and gifts of our culture that she was raised with. “They have been a trailblazer in the Nepali music industry, continuously bringing the taste of authentic, traditional music to Nepalis who carry Nepal in their hearts.”

Together, the organizers have been working really hard and are now looking forward to celebrating with you and making history! #gaungaunbatautha
